This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by House Clearance Roehampton in respect of our operations and supply chains. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and all forms of exploitation in our business and among those who supply goods and services to us.
House Clearance Roehampton operates in the property clearance and related services sector. We recognise that modern slavery can occur in any industry and jurisdiction, and we are committed to operating ethically, transparently, and with integrity in all our business relationships.
We have a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to our own activities, to everyone working for us or on our behalf, and to all organisations that form part of our supply chain. We do not tolerate any form of forced, bonded, or involuntary labour, child labour, or inhumane working practices.
All employees, contractors, agency workers, and suppliers are expected to act consistently with this policy. Any breach or suspected breach is treated as a serious matter that may result in disciplinary action, contract termination, or referral to the relevant authorities.
Our supply chains include providers of waste management and recycling services, transport, facilities, equipment, agency labour, and office support services. We seek to build long-term, transparent relationships with suppliers who share our ethical standards.
We conduct proportionate due diligence on new suppliers, focusing on their labour practices, working conditions, and compliance with applicable employment and human rights legislation. Where higher risk is identified, we may request additional information, seek evidence of relevant policies or certifications, and require written confirmation of compliance with our zero-tolerance stance.
To support our zero-tolerance policy, we implement supplier audits and ongoing monitoring tailored to the nature and risk profile of the supplier.
Our approach may include desktop reviews of documentation, such as policies on modern slavery, employment contracts, and health and safety information. Where appropriate, we may conduct site visits or request evidence of right-to-work checks, wage records, and working hours. We expect suppliers to cooperate fully with these audits and to address any issues identified within clear timeframes.
If a supplier is unwilling or unable to meet our expectations or rectify non-compliance, we will consider appropriate steps, which may include suspending or ending the business relationship.
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery among our staff, particularly those involved in procurement, contract management, and site operations. Training and guidance are provided to help employees recognise indicators of exploitation and understand how to respond to concerns.
Our induction and ongoing briefings reinforce that everyone has a responsibility to uphold our values and to challenge practices that may put people at risk of harm or exploitation.
We encourage the reporting of any concerns about modern slavery or unethical labour practices, whether within our own operations or in our supply chains. Employees can raise concerns with their line manager, a senior manager, or a designated contact for ethical issues. Reports can be made confidentially, and we do not tolerate victimisation of anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
Suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders are also encouraged to report suspicions or evidence of modern slavery connected to our business. All reports are taken seriously, investigated promptly, and, where necessary, escalated to relevant authorities.
We recognise that tackling modern slavery requires ongoing vigilance and improvement. We review this statement and our related procedures at least annually to ensure they remain effective, proportionate, and aligned with current legal requirements and good practice.
As part of the review, we consider feedback from staff and suppliers, the outcomes of any audits or investigations, changes to our business activities, and developments in legislation and guidance. Where we identify opportunities to strengthen our approach, we implement appropriate actions and communicate these internally and, where relevant, to our suppliers.
This statement reflects the commitment of House Clearance Roehampton to work continuously towards eradicating modern slavery and human trafficking from our operations and supply chains.
